Yes I just ordered a stage 1 aftercooled kit. My car's drivetrain is 100% stock right now, so I went with the basic option. I'll do exhaust and a clutch next and then upgrade to higher boost/engine management and beyond. I'll definitely report back with reviews as well as installation updates.

I won't be sharing SoS's installation instructions however, in case anybody was going to ask. I feel like that is their property, and will leave it to them to make it public if they want to.

I'm looking forward to getting this going.
Does this mean I need to look at the Switzer sledge hammer?

Thank you for your interest. The self lubricating compressor model designed by Paxton exclusively for our system has been completed. The self lubricating model, as the name suggests, consists of an internal oil supply system eliminating the need to rely on the engine to supply lubrication to the compressor by way of feed and return hoses.

The self lubricating design was pioneered by Paxton in the 50's and has come into production in Paxton's most recent systems by the development of an internal oiling system that is compact, easy to maintain, and most importantly, features the same durability and reliability of the engine oil fed systems.

For more information, please see Paxton's release here:
http://www.paxtonauto.com/news_novi_sl.html

The one point to consider with the SL model is that the system does require an added maintenance point. The first compressor oil change must be completed at the 2,500 mile mark, and every 7,500 mile mark or sooner after that point. The compressor oil change requires the 4 oz of synthetic oil (three oil change supplies are included in the price) to be changed by way of a drain. ScienceofSpeed stocks the oil for any future requirements.

The upgrade price from the standard system will be $100.00. Please specify when placing your order online or over the phone your request for the SL option.

best regards,
-- Chris

Bump for this unanswered question...
The volute allows 360 degree clocking. In our experience, the liquid cooled aftercooler is a much better solution in both street and track environments however. I suspect that many going for the front mount intercooler are doing so for the look however, so this many be irrelevant. You should look online at this site for pressure drop figures resulting in large FMIC setups installed with other systems.

If you wish to increase the thermal efficiency of the liquid cooled system, we will be offering a heat exchanger upgrade based on the design of our proven system prototyped on our race car. This would be ideal for cars targeting over 360 wheel horsepower. Our target to release this is Feb 27. And if the "FMIC look" is what you're looking for - the larger heat exchanger will certainly provide that.

regards,
-- Chris

Just a personal note to thank all who have placed orders for the systems. The response has been great, and we all appreciate your enthusiasm. We will be contacting customers this Friday for shipping dates of your individual system.

Our current lead time from date of order to shipping is three weeks. After the introductory sale, we expect to reduce this lead time to 1 week.

thank you,
-- Chris

That's not a serious question is it? I think you already know my answer.

Any info on the heat exchanger yet? It was mentioned that it would be out before the discount ended this month.

Also, what about the 1200-SL option, any progress?

Thanks,
J

The SL option is discussed on the prior page of this thread as well, thank you.
