I think the regular flavor after cooled kit is best for me. I don't want to get involved with getting a new clutch yet.

Add a clutch later along with the high boost pulley ($90)

Anyone out there with an AP1 kit that has added injectors, smaller pulley and a tune? Anyone AP1 with a free flowing exhaust and dyno?

Does anyone have the polished kit? The pic on their website is an anodized version and not a pic of the polished unit.

it's just loud for me especially inside the cabin. I replaced it with T1R dual dolphin tip sparrow. The Berk Dual is a high flow exhaust and for me probably it has more power in the midrange than the T1R but I daily drive my S and sometimes it just annoys me. I probably have low tolerance when it comes to noise level. I difinitely get a lot of compliment from car enthusiast though coz it really sounds mean.

Would the s/c pass smog aside from the visual part?.. As ghetto as it might sound, I might try to put the carb sticker from my K&N intake on the blower and hope that it might trick a few. haha I figure this kit is pretty discrete, especially if i get the black one.

Either way no smog for 6 years. But this will have to wait until after summer because my finance would kill me if i purchased this before our wedding.

Do you have a time frame or details on the special Paxton model?

If I bought the hi-boost kit, what would it cost to include the FMU and standard boost pulley? I'm thinking that I would install the base system and wait to install a new clutch and the rest of the parts in order to run the hi-boost. Just curious.
Regarding the SL model, we do not currenty have an accurate timeline. However, we are targeting mid Feb. It is something we are actively working on to fit and test. The bolt pattern is the same, but mounting requirement is different.

Q1 - is the reflash for 06-08 similar to the hondata reflash for KW kits? i.e. does it change vtec engagment points/ raise rev limiter

Q2 - From watching the video below, it seems like the s/c has a really loud whistle at idle. Is it normally that loud? Whats it sound like from in the car? Basically am I going to hear this inside or outside the car over the volume of my 70mm exhaust/hfc? Is this kit louder or quieter then the vortec and KW kits.

The reflash was tuned specificly for our kit which included two full days with Hondata staff tuning both power and driveability.

Regarding the compressor sound: it can be heard mostly at idle and low speed part throttle driving. However, it is nothing like what the video shows. The directional mic pointed right at the engine outside the car is not reflectve of what the car sounds like in person, especially in the cab. I drive this setup on a daily basis, and have no problems. Several who now own the systemn have also commented on this thread and seem to agree.

Cheers,

how hard is it to tighten the belt on this one? I know with the vortech you have to jackup the car and do it from the bottom of the car(and not alot of room either). Do you tighten the belt on these just like the vortech's?
Very easy. We spent the mos time on the tensioner design as it's one of the things we were very unhappy with on other systems. Our design is very similar to how OEM screw tensioner systems work.

To tension, you loosen the tensioner pulley jam nut with a 17mm wrench, thread the tensioner screw with a 14mm socket, and then fasten the jam nut down. Both the jam nut and tensioner screw are easily accessible with out removing anything. The process takes less than a minute to complete.
