I have to agree also. I have tried to make my car a fast, reliable 400whp vehicle and so far so good. I am sure there will be issues that arise but even at 400whp, I am still checking under the hood after every drive just to make sure bolts dont back out and nothing is leaking. Just part of the things you should do to make sure everything is running right. If I want more then e85 will be next step. If I had a 3mm headgasket I would worry when it was going to eventually blow.

Well said. I learned this years ago, and is why I'm reluctant to boost the s2k. The headaches are inevitable, and it can turn into a money pit. Limiting a car's hp to a "reasonable" level on a street car means any outlier doesn't result in catastrophe (bad gas, which leads to detonation, excessive heat- detonation, part failure, etc). If I was to boost my car, the "limit" would most certainly be 400whp. Heck, even at 400whp, there's a lot that can go wrong.

Man Joey... hope all is well and hope you get it figured out... sounds like you have the same issue as Aus2000....

I was asking Toan about whether or not to go with meth still or HG and he said meth...but for my case i'm over 100k and for me to crack open the motor, it'll be to rebuild it properly.

You're definitely one to push the envelope. You push the car hard and finding it's limits and throughout all of this, you seem to keep in the back of your mind chit will happen... That's a good mentality to have.

Hopefully this will all get squared away man...

HMIC, Thanks

As for the GTR vs C6 Video

^

meh, I pulled about the sameish on a GTR , thats kinda the reason I can deal with the Headaches (one of the few times I was able to go WOT at the same time, lol I am usually playing catch up)

i recently had a blown headgasket that would only over heat under boost. the car would also have rough starts and it would only smoke a little white when I would start the car.

I also bled my coolant system multiple times and it would continue to over heat. it sounds like a blown head gasket, sorry to hear. good luck with your replacement.

Drain your oil and check for coolant.. That'll tell you half the story, the other half will be told after a compression test.

edit: a head lifting is usually caused by detonation so i suggest you have your car retuned richer, less boost and slightly more timing. Even adding a meth kit and running the tinest nozzle possible with just water is very helpful. You don't tune for it so theres no need for an intricate kit with a failsafe, just as an add on.

Cheers!

I do run METH and I think less timing would help with detonation, however the car doesnt see any detonation, just long highway pulls at 21lbs of boost

Oil has no coolant in it and vice versa, no smoke, no burning/losing collant, it's strange but the only way I could have this much air in the system has to be blown HG

I think I would still rather have the Turbo S then a "reliable" blown Vette, maybe a Z06, but only domestic I would trade the S for would be a Viper , but I plan adding to the S, never want to "replace" it

E85 is awesome, but IT is not C16.

Thats a better way of typing what I meant. C16>E85
