Replacement air filter for CT filter box (CT boosted)
So I replaced the air filter in the CT filter box with another one from CT (about 2 years ago). I don't drive my car often and when I removed the cover I found the oil had dripped off of the filter element and into the box. Cleaned up the oil and all is good, but it got me thinking about the effectiveness of the filter to filtrate now that the oil is mostly out of the filter. I remember reading a comment somewhere about changing the CT filter out to an AFE filter as it is better.
My question then is what filter is better for my Novi1000 S? I'm willing to remove the CT box if needed so I'm open to ideas.
Thanks for the help!
The CT filter is this one:

You could buy k&n filter spray. Oil in a can. Used when you reuse/renew air filter by cleaning and reoiling it.
Should work for any oiled filter.
That said, oiled filters suck. They let way too many contaminants through. Measurable increases in silica levels in engine oil (sand).
So any paper element filter would be an improvement here. With FI, filter flow isn't as much of a concern as na, as you are forcing air through it. So no need to have sacrifices for highest flowing filter.
If anyone seeing this is na, and using the K&N setup, because you like seeing the filter, or like wasting money on stuff that performs worse than stock, you should at least toss the actual K&N filter and use the stock one in K&N box instead.

I haven't tried it myself but from what other users here said it should be a direct fit.
AFE 21-55505 https://afepower.com/afe-power-21-55...y-s-air-filter

I agree. Stock airbox trumps that. If you really want some gains with the stock box I noticed gains with an Apex'i dual funnel filter back when I was NA/tuned. It's also a dry type filter so no need for oil yet it is washable and reusable. HPI also makes a good similar filter for a good price: https://www.nengun.com/hpi/megamax-air-cleaner
Not sure if that will work for the OP though.
