Whoa! Big call there Jun.

I'm certainly not 'wrong'. If using the shorter bolt was incorrect then my car wouldn't be running, and it is. As for it not being long enough, well it's held my adaptor there in place without problem for several years and numerous track days. I'd say that qualifies as long enough.

And perhaps you can use the original longer bolt without the OEM cooler/warmer but I don't see how. Are you suggesting replace the oil cooler/warmer with the sandwich adaptor? Have a look at the original question: the op is trying to free up space. Replacing the oil cooler/warmer with a sandwich adaptor doesn't save any space.
Here is what I had.

OEM "cooler"
Sandwhich Adapater
Filter

I looked over his solution, since I don't have my block, and it looks like it will work.

Take the stock "cooler" off, and put the sandwhich adapter in place, then my filter.

Saves me a few inches, and looks like it will work w/the factory cooler adapter stud.

^ this is a pretty old thread not sure if anyone will respond. How ever I also have a question. I have plenty of clearance. Will I have any issues running oem oil cooler > sandwich plate > oil filter? I have the clearance to leave the oem cooler. And I'd like to use a sandwich plate to tap in for my oil feed and my oil pressure sensor.

Default Oil cooler lines

So I just read most of this thread my only question is if I remove my oem oil cooler . Did you all just block the coolant lines running to it . ?

You'd want to pipe the two lines together. Maintain coolant flow. Rest of system expects coolant to pass through here.

FYI, if its a street car, stock oil cooler beneficial, as its also an oil heater. Helps get oil up to operating temp much quicker. Oio taoes way longer to reach operating temp vs oil. Yet all you have to go by is coolant temp gauge. Vtec won't engage till coolant temp warm, but that doesn't oil is yet.

It can be like another 10-15 min of driving before at operating temp. Probably a lot more without stock oil cooler/heater.
