i've been reading up on supercharger rebuilds because i think mine is due for one. i know of the $350 rebuild kit sold by superchargerrebuilds.com. some of the people on here that put together their own kits preferred to source their own parts.

here are the parts that are replaced in a Novi 1000 rebuild:


Big bearings : ME1206 OR NTN 7206-cg/gnp4
Small bearings : Barden C203H DL OR 203HX96
One seal is a Chicago Rawhide 9838, not sure about the other one

i started the process of sourcing my parts yesterday and the prices i'm getting for just the large bearings is upwards of $160. i'm starting to think it might be more cost effective to just buy the $350 kit. any input?

Good findings! I am going to do some research on the bearing numbers you have. $160 seems ridiculous for two bearings, don't you think?

^^i visited that site today. there is pretty much nothing on the novi1000 internals though. i wouldn't want to take the info on the novi2000 and try to go from there. i thought i struck gold when i found that site, but i was sad when i realized they had nothing on the novi1000

It seems a lot of the parts you listed are the same from that link. I'm planning on calling Barden/FAG directly and same thing with Chicago Rawhide. I'm sure they will know exactly what parts they supply to Paxton. Are you going to take the entire bracket off or just the head unit?

well you need to take the entire thing off in order to get the actual blower off of the bracket. according to kitkat who did his rebuild himself, those numbers listed are from barden themselves bu no barden distributor is recognizing those numbers...and of course paxton isn't giving that info out because it's "intellectual property"

I think the best thing to do is to call Barden and ask what part numbers they supplied to Paxton. After that, I would then see if I can find a distributor who has those part numbers, or if there are some updated ones.

There has to be some easier way to do this. I think it's just going to take some digging unfortunately. Paxton is pretty close to me, but I can't ever get them on the phone, nor will they return my messages. I just wanted to see how much it was for a rebuild from them.

either way if one pair of bearings is going to be upwards of $160, the $350 kit might be worth it

I have a pair of the larger bearings from the superchargerrebuilds ABEC-7 kit. They are brand new and I'll let them go for $100 shipped if you want them. I'll check when I get home and see if I can find any part #'s on them.

Also, there are 2 different sizes for the smaller seal depending on what generation blower you have. I was sent the wrong size initially and had to return it. I'm not sure there is any way to determine which size you need without cracking open the blower.

Those are the only markings on the bearings, larger of the 2 pairs.
