Re torque FBM studs
#4
I have never retorqued the headstuds and have never had an issue. If you do it right the first time and use something like ARP ultralube, retorquing is not needed after a heat cycle, especially is torquing strong headstuds like the FB to 100 ft lbs. The one thing I do do though is to torque the head down and let it set over night and then check the torque again before buttoning things up.

ARP head studs stretch SO much once you get in the higher horsepower range. When that was all that was available, I would retorque after a few trips to the dragstrip. Now with A1 studs, I just check them after the first heat cycle. Not necessarily retorque, but just set the wrench to 100 and make it click. The golden eagle head studs were great on the B-series engines. Never had an issue with A1 or golden eagle. If ARP, I would never risk not retorquing; at least after the first 500 miles beings from what I've seen at the shop, the do stretch minimally.
