FYI. Aftermarket fans are much more likely to stall a supercharged car than a turbocharged car due to the extra load created by the SC at idle.

Defiantly stay away from the dual mishimoto fans and shrouds. The air flow on those fans is just junk.
hard to believe they are junk if its keeping an AP1 with a Ptuning kit on it in check.... might not be the craziest set up but for a car that doesnt have over heating problems, it sounds like a good option
I've actually been running the Mishi fan shroud with the Koyo radiator for years with no issues at all and look at my sig below and the power my car makes. Those fans kick on and they are definitely pushing a lot more air than what the stockers did. Even my tuner was like.....Good lord those things are moving some air.

Do you drive your car in 100 degree wether with the air conditioner on? Becuase I do with my track forged kit and so does my brother with his ptunning kit and the mishimoto fans and shrouds cannot control the water temps.

Please keep in mind that all low profile fans such as the mishimoto fans/spal medium and low profile fans are extremely loud going off a false sense of lots of airflow. If you use a cfm meter you will realize they are no better than stock in terms of cfms. The spal extreme and high performance fans when flow a lot more than the slim fans are actually quieter.

Like I said if the fans can run on the stock power wire and not blow fuses then the fans are not any better than stock.

I know all this because I owned and used all of these fans because I was trying to keep my turbo air conditioned s2000 cool in how so cal wether

95°+ weather here and humidity that's unheard of so yes, my car does just fine with the AC on and hot weather. Has anyone ever thought that maybe they're intercooler is crap or setting too close to the condenser and the radiator can't move the air well anymore and that's why the overheating issues?

My Mishi fans aren't very loud either, about like stock but maybe just a bit louder and it's not a false sense of airflow when you can feel the huge rush of airflow coming out of the engine bay when they come on. That's why my tuner said "good lord those fans are moving some air".

I find Misimoto's research and development isn't rocket science but they do put their products through their paces, at least the ones I've used. People like to knock the slim fans and of coarse a big 3000 cfm fan would do wonders but when clearance is tight and slim fans are your only option, the mishi fan/shroud combo works great. i drove my car today in 92+ degree with humidity along ocean drive here on south beach in stop and go traffic that never goes above 15mph with my A/C cranking and the only thing keeping the coolant from boiling over was my mishi X-line radiator and fan/shroud combo. its been on the car for 2+ years with 15k miles and the car makes over 500+ and my temps rarely stay above 190 for more than a few sec. Plenty of dyno sessions and i have yet to complain about it, and for those guys who are having stalling issues when your fans kick on seriously look at your battery offset tables, that and keeping your idle a tad bit higher in those situations are the norm when your A/C and fans are on.

I think we need to get an intercooler made-up as like a Full-Race Copy, but with an ETS core. EVOs had the same problem with FMIC Air-Damming and getting hot. It is a big problem with Garrett Cores...

ETS has custom cores with thinner bars. So more air gets through.

I've had that problem in the past with Integras, and when we drilled a few 3" bumper-holes in front of radiator, problem solved.

on my evo i have a halfsize koyo radiator with a single SPAL 14" (i think. maybe 12) 17xx CFM fan controlled progressively thru AEM. did like 3-4 hours of idle tuning yesterday and had ZERO cooling issues. never went above 185 degrees. same with slow 40mph driving. and i have a 4.5" thick intercooler.

get good fans. i have no shroud. the fan was $175 from summitracing but it was well worth it. i had some shit bag fan with a fullsize koyo R radiator last year and it would start creeping up after like 20 minutes

i just picked up the mishimoto shroud/fan combo so well see how it goes! I might replace the fans with spal fans later on.

What battery would you guys recommend to power these 2 fans (or the spals). Is there a certain battery that might handle the instant load of the fans turning on better then another?
I was looking at the;
-Odyssey PC925
- Optima Batteries
- Duralast Platinum

The other 2 look cool but the Duralast has better specs if im reading them correctly!

First I have Darton MID sleeves and a built motor so that may make a difference but I have a Mishimoto radiator with the mishimoto fan shroud and dual fans and I have never had an over heating problem, I make 500whp on pump and 600whp on race gas on a garrett gt35r with coolant lines hooked up and in the summer my temps usually dont go above 205. I'm OCD about bleeding my coolant system so I think that helps a lot. I use oem Honda coolant. I have a stinger battery in my trunk with no issues.

You may want to hook the fans up using a relay. I didnt but will be changing that. When the fans kick on, my wb goes way lean for a second from the power draw.

The mishimoto fans don't draw enough amperage to require a relay.
