Thanks for all the info guys... I was hoping picture pro would chime in. I remember u talking about them stalling the car and wanted to see what fans they were.

So I'm leaning towards 2 13in tripac fans 2700 cfm
Or
The mishimoto 12 inch fans/shroud combo

I really think the shroud hurts the temps until the fan kicks on

Defiantly stay away from the dual mishimoto fans and shrouds. The air flow on those fans is just junk.
hard to believe they are junk if its keeping an AP1 with a Ptuning kit on it in check.... might not be the craziest set up but for a car that doesnt have over heating problems, it sounds like a good option
I've actually been running the Mishi fan shroud with the Koyo radiator for years with no issues at all and look at my sig below and the power my car makes. Those fans kick on and they are definitely pushing a lot more air than what the stockers did. Even my tuner was like.....Good lord those things are moving some air.

Dumb question, I've got the Mishimoto fan shroud and actually was pretty pleased with the performance. Will the SPAL fans drop right in and bolt up as a replacement? Like can I keep the fan shroud but change the fan?

Do you drive your car in 100 degree wether with the air conditioner on? Becuase I do with my track forged kit and so does my brother with his ptunning kit and the mishimoto fans and shrouds cannot control the water temps.

Please keep in mind that all low profile fans such as the mishimoto fans/spal medium and low profile fans are extremely loud going off a false sense of lots of airflow. If you use a cfm meter you will realize they are no better than stock in terms of cfms. The spal extreme and high performance fans when flow a lot more than the slim fans are actually quieter.

Like I said if the fans can run on the stock power wire and not blow fuses then the fans are not any better than stock.

I know all this because I owned and used all of these fans because I was trying to keep my turbo air conditioned s2000 cool in how so cal wether

The answer is no. I tried to put a spal medium profile fan on the mishimoto shroud and it will not fit without modifications.

I went to SEMA las Vegas 2013 and spoke with SPAL. The tech said 10 amps running BUT 25AMPS on startup. 50amps now is enough to kill the car
My Tunner set the idle to 1200 and 97% it will keep running. I've been driving it on a couple hot days and nights, no probs. I bought 2 SPAL FRH relay kits
Car battery is under a year old and driven 2x a week about 60 miles.

Another s2ki member bought a high output alternator, amps are not up until 1200-1500rpm, so the fan startup still kills their car also.
couple made their own capacitor to have a reserve power for startups of the fans.

I've been running 2 SPAL 30101522 - SPAL Medium-Profile Electric Fans. They pull a lot of power when kicking on, idle set at 1200 or it will stall car
Spal low profile and medium profile fans do not need after market high out put relays/ do not need separate aftermarket larger wiring harnesses and I believe they only draw about 10 amps. They absolutely do not draw a lot of power. I has no stalling issues when I had the spal medium profile fans or mishimoto fans.

The high performance and extreme performance line requires all of the above and draw over double the a ought of power as the medium profile spals. I had horrible stalling issues when these fans kicked on. This can be fixed by adding capacitors or by a controller that progressively turns the fans on over the course of a few seconds.

From my experience you super charged after cooler guys seem to be fine with standard low flowing fans. It's the turbo guys with the huge front mount intercoolers with air condition that need these crazy fans. It's that or a v mount intercooler/radiator setup. Or the mrsideways radiator setup.

I have been using SPAL fans for 5 years on my various S2000's. I have always used the SPAL relay kit and just used the OEM wire to trigger the relay. With the relay wired into the battery, I have never had a car stall on me when they kick on. Not sure what that is about, but I have used them on AC cars and non AC cars, OEM ECU and KPro ECU, all with normal trigger results and no stalling.

Fwiw I run oem drivers side fan and this bobo summit fan on passenger side. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g4910 both wired to come on and stay on with ignition. Only on a real hot day will ac not work perfect in bumper to bumper traffic. it gets cool not cold. But once moving all good. Car doesn't over heat either. Again all street driving.
