Default Radiator shroud and dual fans

So I'm looking for new fans as my Tripac slim fans need to be replaced. I'm CT supercharged at 360whp with a Koyorad radiator.

Has anyone tried the Protuninglab shroud and dual fans... It's only $105. I just don't know who makes these fans.

These shrouds seem to block a lot of air flow, I can see them working better when the fans are on but don't they look like when they are off it would block the air from flowing As freely? Has anyone had a negative experience with these shrouds?

I have used and owned every fan on the market. What ever you do do not go with slim fans and the mishimoto dual slim fans and shroud is one of the worst fans I have ever owned. That do not flow any better than stock.

The only good fans are the spal high performance and extreme performance line of fans. Stay away from the spal low profile and medium profile lines unless you absolutely must run a low profile fan.

I run 2 12 inch slim fans and am at 360whp and never over heat. One fan is burnt out and the other is starting to act up so it's time for new ones.

That's why I'm making this post... From my readings seems like everyone that runs the Shroud tends to over heat. Looks like it would block a lot of air flow while cruising with the fans off.

So basically my question is shroud or no shroud, as slim fans with no shroud work just fine for me. idk if it will fit in front of my CT aftercooler either

i use a single 16" zirgo on both my supra and my s2k down here in south florida. it pulls 3600 cfm and you can see the temps drop as soon as it kicks on. AC on all in stop and go traffic no problems. shrouds work no because they let air flow front the front of the car through but because they make the fan more efficient. 2 cheap slim fans with the tie ties on a dual pass koyo works like crap but with a shroud make a night and day diffrence. The mishimoto fan/shroud setup is on my girls ap1 with a pfab stage 2 and the car runs and drives as it should.

Look into spal extreme or high performance fans. Derale high performance fans are also good. They are trustworthy brands that have accurate cfm ratings and are reliable. Nothing against the above poster but I'd stay away from Zirgo.

Defiantly stay away from the dual mishimoto fans and shrouds. The air flow on those fans is just junk.

hard to believe they are junk if its keeping an AP1 with a Ptuning kit on it in check.... might not be the craziest set up but for a car that doesnt have over heating problems, it sounds like a good option

I've been running 2 SPAL 30101522 - SPAL Medium-Profile Electric Fans. They pull a lot of power when kicking on, idle set at 1200 or it will stall car

My brother has a ptunning kit and with the cheep mishimoto fans/shroud with a huge intercooler blocking the most of the air in 100+ degree heat with ac on blast, with the car cruzing on the freeway up long hills the car will over heat. Spal extreme fans 100% solve this. Oem fans/stock fans/ mishimoto fans/ spal medium profile fans all did not solve this issue.

Spal low profile and medium profile fans do not need after market high out put relays/ do not need separate aftermarket larger wiring harnesses and I believe they only draw about 10 amps. They absolutely do not draw a lot of power. I has no stalling issues when I had the spal medium profile fans or mishimoto fans.

The high performance and extreme performance line requires all of the above and draw over double the a ought of power as the medium profile spals. I had horrible stalling issues when these fans kicked on. This can be fixed by adding capacitors or by a controller that progressively turns the fans on over the course of a few seconds.

From my experience you super charged after cooler guys seem to be fine with standard low flowing fans. It's the turbo guys with the huge front mount intercoolers with air condition that need these crazy fans. It's that or a v mount intercooler/radiator setup. Or the mrsideways radiator setup.
