WOW.....!
I spoke too soon......
As soon as I made a comment about putting the SPAL fan on a relay, and not having any problems:
1. The car completely blew the 30-amp fuse in the relay for the SPAL fan and darn near overheated in stop & go traffic.
2. At the same time the dry-sump oil pump is now making a good deal of noise.......sounds like there are two steel marbles rolling around in it......Obviously going out. It was silent as can be two days ago.
I have to wonder if PTuning was shipped a bad batch of dry-sump pumps, which are causing the surge / blown fuse issues
Seriously.......PTuning boys.....this is seeming to be a more common issue that keeps coming up rather than a few isolated cases. The car has 1,800 typically driven street miles on it since the kit install.
I'll be calling your shop in the morning to discuss.

weird, i was also told to put the fan on its own relay and that it would solve the problem.
Maybe try wiring the pump directly to the battery? Not sure if that would help solve the issue.
Either way, let us know what happens.

really? I figured that the pump is still grounded to the stock oil pressure sensor.. so if the pump were to shut off, the stock oil pressure sensor should be grounded and the oil light would turn on, no?

Maybe a stupid question but cant you just take the wires that run to the factory fans, splice those wires with the wires that run to the Spal fan an have it run off of the factory set up?
I mean it doesnt seem to make sense to bypass something that already works

That's how the spal is set up, more or less

I have had the 7amp fuse blow for the fan and the oil light came on.Changed to a 10amp fuse and had no issues after that. No issues with the oil pump so far either. I am sure that ptuning will correct problem and take care of supplying you another pump. However, I would like to know how long they will warranty the pump. I certainly do not want to have it blow next year and find out it was a bad batch of pumps then have to pay for another pump.
