Default Precision 6765SP and 6262SP

I'm trying to find out who has experience running the Precision 6765SP or 6262SP turbo with the T3 .82 AR exhaust housing on a tubular manifold. What is the whp capabilities of these turbo's on the S? At roughly what rpm is full boost of around 25 psi at on the S with these turbo's?

I'm trying to compare the two to figure out which turbo I want to get. Precision claims around 700 crank hp with the 6262SP but I've seen EVO's making 800+ whp with them which makes no sense. Peter at ISP has claimed around 730 whp on his S with the 6262SP at around 32 psi and full boost around 5300 rpm if I remember right.

When I was looking at the 6262 Peter was the only one I could find using it on his S2000. I actually bought the turbo off his car. Like you said it made 730whp and that was on a mini-me. The GT1 manifold should make a lot more power. As far as the evo guys with 800+whp are running 40+psi on this turbo to acheive that.

sbrodacz used the 6765 with a T4 compared to 6165 before and there is a decent spool difference. It kills the 6765 till 5500rpm. I would think 6262 would out spool the old 6165. Then again this does not really mean anything since there was a a whole set up change.

Did you consider a 6265 for a nice in between.

This is a little off topic, I think I remember seeing that you will be running e85. Will this be on a stock motor still, I think you mentioned you will pull your 3mm gasket out. I am really considering keeping stock compression but I would still like to hit 600whp. I would imagine it that would require at least 20psi. Just not sure if that is a bit to much. I beat the Sh!t out of my cars.

I have the 6165s bb and its at full spool 20psi at I think around 5600-5800 and it was over 90 outside. It was at 10psi around 4400. When Seth compared them to the 5965b it actually spooled better. The 6265 is a billet where the 6165 is just the standard turbo. I would think they would all be pretty close IMO. The billet should make more power at higher rpms. I am going to retune later this week Ihope so I should have more data.

I am also intrested in knowing the difference in these turbos as I am about to purchase a new turbo. I have searched all over the the web with no sucess. I know that the central fl. turbo guys are using the 6262 and they put down over 700 aswell.

CFT just put down 835whp. I wonder if they are still on the 6262. I will ask Fernando, I have to give them a call today about their fuel system.

Spoolin, you should look into CFTs fuel system instead of full blowns. It is a bit cheaper from what I heard and it will support more power. I think they are using a single intank walbro with dual bosch 044 inlines, full blown rail, cft surge tank. I will try to get more details today.

The 6262 should max around 850whp on the S, and the 6765 should do around 950-975whp. You WILL need to run tons of boost to make this power, but you get the idea at least. The 6265 and 6165 will spool similar, the 6765 will spool noticeable slower.

If you can run E85 you should go with a smaller turbo. You can run higher boost which means you can make good power and spool quicker. The 6765 is an awesome turbo(Im selling one) but on less than 3 liters, its more of a drag turbo.

I hits full spool at 5500 rpms with the 6765 and their new billet wheel.

Spoolin and I have been in contact with cft on their fuel systems.

When I had the 6165 I was hitting full spool around 5200, so I'd assume it's somewhere in between 5200 and 5500. Not to mention the 6765 is capable of making more power, why not go with the turbo that can handle/make more power and many only spool a couple hundred rpms later if not the same?
