Default Power restriction turbo kit

So basically, i took my car to be tuned its a GT35R mase turbo kit RHD setup running an AEM S2 with MAC boost solenoid etc.

I then had a dual catback exhaust made which was...

70mm downpipe (came with kit) -> 3inch -> to Y peice then 70mm to muffler boxes - the Y piece is not restrictive.

We tuned to 18psi and raising boost to 19psi and even 20 psi made no difference, we took off the air filter and that made no real difference tyres were okay too, he said its getting resticted after 6500rpm because he had to remove fuel and overlayed another s2000 on top of my graph (a pretty similar setup and kings performance setup running same fuel).

An s2000 with a kings performance setup (Turbo Precision HP-6266) was in about 2 month ago on the same dyno with a pretty damn similar setup made 542 bhp but mine just wont make that power and the boost increase doesn't make any difference to the power. The power curves are similar very similar upto 6500rpm.

He was thinking the piping or intercooler was restrictive but still its 2.75@ and 2.5@ piping and a thick precision inter-cooler that came with the kit.

What gives pretty pissed, any ideas?

Thanks

Drop the exhaust.

I had issues with power not coming up due to restrictive exhaust my last trip at the dyno

the change from 10psi to 14psi was not nearly where it should have been. Drop the exhaust or get a cutout.

Are your mufflers straight through?

Sounds like the same issue I had with my P-Tuning Kit at Evans a few months ago. I know my issue was all about the Tial V-Band Hot side. The 30R Tial Vband SS .63 is actually a modified T25 Housing and not a true new casted 30r/35r housing. But the Tial 35r housing is good and a true .63/.82 and so on... blah blah blah. So what are your turbo specs? Intercooler dims?

I had the same issue along time ago. It didn't matter how much more boost we added I gained little to no power. I dropped my 70mm exhaust for a megan 3" and have never had that problem again.

Would like to see more info on this as the 30r tial housing came out years before any t25 housings did.

I've also seen a similar issue once before due to a corrupted calibration, but that wasn't on aem so very unlikely.

Thanks for the replies.

It's a gt35r
Aeromotive 340 pump
Good high ron Pump gas but we know limit is 18/19 psi before diminishing returns
Id1000s injectors
Mase sidewinder manifold
70mm down pipe
Custom air feed
Intercooler that came with mase kit think it's a precision 3" thick size of opening.

Regarding the exhaust it's a custom made dual exhaust that is 70mm down pipe to 3 inch bore down to two 2.25 pipes which the mufflers are straight through, there are virtually no bends, flexipipe has no restrictor in and the Y peice is not small/restriction Imo, there is also cat it's just a straight pipe.

Thinking if say the charge pipe to throttle isn't quite lined up it could cause a restriction but other than that I'm stumped. Filter was took off but only yielded 6bhp.

Thanks

I still think it is the sizing of the exhaust piping I really would go 3 inch on the downpipe at least and the testipe.
