Default Port stock intake manifold or buy full blown?

I just got a skunk2 74mm pro series throttle body trying to decide If I want to get my stock manifold ported and welded or just buy the full blown intake manifold. The full blown looks really nice has a huge plenum, idle control ports, and looks close to stock location for piping. Just not sure if it's worth spending the money, looking to make 600whp t3 6262 .82 2.5 charge pipe full race pro street manifold on e85. I know it's not going to make a really big power difference but it should be a lot more efficient I just can't get over how small the factory plenum is. Let me know what you guys think thanks

I just opened up my manifold for the skunk2 74mm.
It required some welding and IMHO is at the limits for the stock manifold.
Any bigger and there would be no gasket surface left.

I'm thinking the stock plenum is fine for 600rwhp on E85

I think the stock plenum is ok for that power level also, but wouldn't it be better with the larger full blown? I wish their was some before and after dyno info on the manifold. I can't seem to find any power gain info on it, in the 400-600 hp range.

I talked to lj and justin way back when and they told me "If your not in the big boy range 800+hp, it is there basically to look pretty". Honda designed the manifold perfect. The only mani I'll change in to in the future is the 8 injector setup. Dual fuel rails.

Throttle body enlargement and port matching will definitely effect part throttle response, since you’re getting a larger air opening with less pedal movement now. But as far as WOT/peak power, yes there will be some, but probably not as much as you would hope. It will be less noticeable since there are other bottle necks in the system aft of the TB port. Big change in partial throttle though yes, so it’s worth doing for that. Will help the car feel a little snappier when out of boost.

I talked to justin today and ordered one. After I install it I will update my build and post pictures, then I should be ready for my retune e85 flex fuel. I will be happy if I gain 18 whp if not owell, it looks baller. Do you guys think i should get 3" cold side pipe or just leave the 2.5?

This has been a pain but I test fitted it today the skunk2 74mm throttle body wouldn't line up right on the full blown manifold, you must use the full blown throttle body or mod the manifold. I had the mounting holes in the manifold welded then drilled and tapped new holes so the throttle body would be centered. Now all i need to do is cut my charge pipe down have it beed rolled and i ordered a 90 aem fuel pressure regulator fitting then should be good to go.
