Default Piecing together a turbo kit

Hello looking into getting a turbo together for my S and was hoping to get peoples help. I have read many threads about turbos and how they work and i know that there is kits out there. But my dilema is i would like to put a setup together for under 5500. I know going cheap is not always a good thing but really cant afford to put 9k into a kit. So what i am basically looking for is a setup that pulls to redline that puts 350-400 whp and that i can daily drive. If you guys can help me understand what a good setup woud be i would greatly appreciate it. O and its a 04 and i will be piecing the kit together slowly till summer comes around thanks again.

you can get it done for $5500 if you do custom. do you mean $5500 including the EMS?? then forget about it

or

get the inlinepro kit with inj and headgasket. get VAFC-II + install + tune will be around $6000

or

get a used kit

Is it possible? Yes, but you should have some extra money set aside just in case things don't go as smoothly as planned (which is almost always ). Also remember that you need another 1k for a clutch, 5-800 for a tune/dyno time, and labor if it applies to you. Good luck with it all.

Well i was going to do all the installation myself shouldnt have a problem with that. As far as 5500 for everything goes i was hoping that would be enough bu ti understand the issue with the extra costs. My real question i guess would be what parts would be best for a setup like this thanks.

Well... for 350-400whp you have a number of different options, but most likely you will be looking for used parts if you want to stay in your budget. For that power goal I would be looking for these parts...

GT3071R
InlinePro manifold (For the price, it performs well), downpipe (you can also go with ultimate racing for very cheap if you get used parts, but the performance isn't as good)
RC750's
Walbro fuel pump
Greddy E-Manage/AEM EMS
Clutch/Pressure Plate
Custom charge piping
Tial wastegate
3" exhaust
FMIC

The list goes on, but those are your main components that you can look to pick up at good prices used and part together your own kit slowly.

350whp daily drive around $5500, sounds like you need a vortech supercharger, not a turbo setup.
