Rob! was using an IP 3mm HG, AP2 retainers and new STOCK headbolts
The 3mm HG is something that works very well, but has its downfall, like Devs2k said, when using the thicker HG you are putting it right into the fire so to speak, thats why one good misfire or detenation and bye bye head gasket, the stock HG is more forgiving, I will be most definatly making the change over to a 3mm HG because we only have pump 91oct out here, and making big power on that is VERY dangerous, i have also been tossing around the E85 idea, but Tom from InlinePro says that Jeremy Allen and others over there dont like it because they "CLAIM" it causes breakdown on internal engine components on engines they have built, take that for what its worth because we know people have ran E85 for years with no issues.....

Even though its not a perfect solution, I would still use a 3mm HG if I am looking to push serious power.

oh i forgot to add in. when running water/meth i was told to change my oil alot sooner. the oil analysis company said methanol or alcohol breaks oil down faster then gas. so just like the ethanol.

I never heard about Rob! having any issues with his 3mm IP HG. What problems was he having? Was he also running ARP headstuds like I am?

as far as e85, i'm not saying tom and jeremy allen don't know what they're talking about b/c they most certainly DO, but i can't see any issues that could arise w/ the internals if u change ur oil more frequently or use a motor oil w/ good acid neutralization capabilities... my only 4 concerns w/ e85 is availability, consistency of the blend, cold starts and oil change frequency. mobil1 actually recommends running turbo diesel motor oil, go figure.....

I want to see what what the stock internal F20/F22 can really do, i have no doubt it can hit 750+ whp because it already has been done, but i still dont think i would run my car that hard, i think 650whp or so is a nice safe number, and still is a down right machine that not very much can keep up with....
