I see. I bet in your case it was because of the 2 hole squirters at higher rpm's not lubricating the bearings well. Thanks for the input.

i'm not saying that it wasn't the banjo bolts, but the only thing with the 2 hole oil jet banjo bolt theory that i was never able to understand, was how it could affect rod bearing lubrication, as this is not the purpose of the oil squirters.... if u ever took an s2k shortblock apart you'll see that the oil jet banjo bolts really have less to do with lubricating the rod bearings and more to do with cooling down piston temps.... unless, maybe increased piston temps led to detonation and detonation deformed the bearings, or maybe the oil drizzled down the con rods and somehow worked its way into the con rod bearings (i don't really see this happening)........ that's why i have a sneaky suspicion honda did something else, other than 4 hole banjo bolts, to MY03's and above that we're not aware of

Makes sense...Honda probably did do some other tricks for lubrication we dont know of. I have an 02 that was built in Nov 02 so I am good with whatever they did to correct things.

my car does the exact same thing when VTEC engages, no big deal. i noticed it drops right when it engages, i haven't really looked at the oil pressure gauge when the car is screaming at 9krpm lol

^^Yeah, it's kind of hard watching all the gauges while mashing into it. If you ever get a chance to watch your pressure, let me know what it drops to when VTEC engages and if it holds right there like mine.

i think that what you are seeing is normal, it seems like you are dropping about 10-15psi while VTEC is engaged, which to me seems right, VTEC is obviously driven mechanically by oil pressure so you are bound to lose some pressure during its operation......
