I would think if you have enough oil in your pan, the larger lines wouldn't cause any ill effects because quite honestly, 2 lines shouldn't have much oil pressure drop if at all.

Anyone know what's the maximum amount of oil the pan can hold? I'm sure it's more then ~5.5 that the manual states.

well since my motor is cooked im gonna run it till its completely dead and tear it down and take pics. i will post them. currently i have a crank knock. still running 13 psi and the motor is strong. i did notice after hard pulls and extended hard running my oil pressure drops while its hot then builds back up. im curious how long my crap of a motor will last and im sure others are too. im running a cometic hg and meth that starts at 6psi and im having no problems on 89 or 91 octane..

sorry for so many posts at once. but btw i first ran -10 then i switched to -8. my oil psi went up almost 10 psi. then i bought a top mount manifold and took the relocator off and it increased a bit. it takes pressure away to push it the added distance and through the bigger line that honda didnt design to be there. if only there werent better and bigger oil pumps like the v8 crowd. on my new engine i will investigate to get better oiling. maybe even a dry sump system. who knows. but im scared of oil starvation especially after i spend all the money on internals. any ideas how to make a better oil system?

When I change my oil next, I think I'm going to change my oil pressure sensor location and see what happens to the readings. I'm still convinced the pressure at the relocation block is less then where the oil warning light switch is.

For the people seeing lots of pressure drop when its hot what oil are you guys using and have you tried thicker oil?

I think its kinda funny when the VW guys start trying to figure out why they get a lifter tick when they beat the crap out of their cars and they are all using 0W oil.LOL They will not hear it when I suggest putting thicker oil in. 20 hyd lifters and a turbo + 0w oil = lifter tick.

I would run thicker oil until you get up to factory specs and then change every 1000 miles or less if you run E85.

also take note that small engines like ours have smaller oil passages then a v6 or v8. meaning it takes longer for cold oil to travel on startup so dont just take off like a bat out of hell when shes cold.

Thats good to know that when you switched from the -10 lines to the -8 lines, your oil pressure went up 10 psi. I was thinking this would be the case but wasnt too sure. I'm glad I have the -8 lines on there now and Darryl from UR confirmed a while back that -8 or 1/2" rubber lines would work best. I asked him if I should stick with my -8 lines or go up to -10 and he said to stay with the -8. I guess he was correct, now that you have confirmed that -8 lines raise the oil pressure.
