Default Parts List for 600whp+

Couple of questions...

I'm curious what exactly it takes to reach the 600-700whp mark on our motors.

Stock block 2.2L

Obviously a turbo to get you there, which is obvious.

I'm curious about fuel/spark.

Injector Sizes
Fuel Pump(s)
Spark

Anything else I am overlooking.

single in tank
single bosch 044 inline
regulator able to set a base pressure of 100psi
ID 1000's (will act like 1500's with a base pressure of 100psi)

stock ap2 coils, plugs i would use 9's.

that's the simplest setup that has been proven more than once.

I personally like to use the 3mm HG for obvious long term reasons and ARP headstuds. You will need an upgraded rearend, preferrably the IP setup, if you want it to last. The Full Blown twin pump setup will be nice if you can afford it or you can go with an added inline external pump like a bosch or walbro. On race fuel, 1000cc injectors and the stock fuel lines should be fine for that power goal but if you want to run e85, you will need larger injectors and fuel lines. A good clutch to hold that power will also be needed. I've been using the CC stage 5 and it has held 440 lbft of tq fairly easily. A twin disc would be best though. You can try and see if your stock coils will get you there. Some people have problems out of them and some dont, its a toss up. I didnt had any problems with them when I was around 600 whp but may when I get closer to 700 whp. If you have problems out of them, look into the RSX coils. Make sure you take it easy on the tranny also and dont slam gears at that power level. You can upgrade it with the PPG setup but that will run between $6000 and $8000 depending on if you go with the synchro gearset or the dog box.

I think that about covers all I can think of right now.

Hope this helps.

considering you already have 500whp+ you wont need a whole lot. an EL manifold to get you there safely is one.

to get above 600whp
fuel. either a full blown dual walbro setup or some other dual pump setup. one in tank and one inline with all custom feed and return lines and aftermarket regulator. Racegas will be a must unless you want to push it with meth which im not really into.

spark. The ap2 coils will work fine with them gapped tight to atleast high 700's (ask me how I know)

unless your turbo or clutch will max out before then you should be okay with that. its kinda crazy what kinda power these motors can make. Its gonna be hard to out do my s2000 even with a supra considering how light the s2k is.

Great info guys, I appreciate it!!!

I am picking up a 6262 asap, so I'll have the turbo covered.

I've got the 1000cc ID's already coupled w/my walbro 255lph w/wire mod.

I will need to grab a fuel regulator, as well as a Bosch inline pump. (look for future thread on how-to install, lol)

The clutch is a CC stage 5 I bought from Jeff when I swapped it last winter.

I am going to stay w/the stock rearend for the tune omgautogrenade, then look into options after the tune to save some $$.

AP2 coils should hold me for spark, and I'll pickup some plugs.

I'm thinking the meth can get me to 600whp on pump gas, w00t, and then max the system on 110octane. Track only setup w/the 700whp, so it won't get abused that much of course, lol.

Crazy?

I saw a thread on HT I believe about it, but missed the part where you lost your t67, I just figured you were looking to upgrade as well.

Can you post up some pics or a how-to on the inline pump and where you put it, what lines you ran/etc?

Also, did you keep the stock rail?

Where/how did you mount your fpr?

Curious.

Thanks
