Overheating Problems in Hot Weather with FMIC?
Hey guys,
I'm moving to Las Vegas. I have an Ultimate Racing kit with FMIC and Koyo radiator and oil cooler. My water temps run around 175-180 (up to 185 in bad traffic) here in Buffalo when the weather is warm at 85F. I am curious as to whether anyone who lives in warmer weather has problems with overheating. I obviously want the AC in Vegas.

I don't think my coolant temp calibration tables are off, but I see temps much higher than that even when it's not hot out. On hot hot days after a long drive, 220+ deg F.

^^They sound like they are off (are you using an AEM EMS?)
I have a water temp gauge plumbed into my cooling system and I've never seen above 205F which makes sense. The stock thermostat fully opens at 190F and the fan switch turns on at 200-205 and turns off ~10F lower which puts you around 190-195F. 220+ is what my AEM reads which I now know is way off.

yeah im using AEM. i figured they seemed kind of high, but i never thought anything of it because the car never pushes coolant over into the overflow and there are no air bubbles in the system.

Mine were off 10-15 degress until I fixed it..easy too.

Think Im gonna get a separate Pro-sport water temp gauge because my serial gauge gets a little wacky with the EMS temp reading sometimes. It will just flash H2O instead of telling me the actual temp. Sucks when your getting close to the limit.
