okay, this is probably going to be a dumb question and completely not topic related... How much of a mess does the upside down filter make when doing an oil change?

I'm currently buying parts to piece together a turbo setup and keep seeing filters sit this way and haven't figured out why everyone does it.

i have no idea why either, everyone must spill everywhere with a set up like that, i did mine mounted down

if you give it a min or 2 the oil will drain down and there is int much when you take it off

why not just buy 1 from summitracing?...i purchased mines for $60...if u wanted to reused the stock oil cooler bring it to a machine shop and have them tap the filter plate for the factory bolt or tap it urself

I've had mine running like that since 2006. Works fine for me. I did go down to -8 lines to halep with oil pressure.
