Default oil cooler for self lube vortech/sos supercharger?

Im not that familiar with how the self lube blowers work. Its my understanding that all the oil is contained in the blower, no external reservoir. But the rotrex units use an external oil reservoir & some sort of oil cooler. Thats why they dont fail like the paxton/novi self lubes do.

Is there any way to add those components to the paxton/novi self lube? Or does it just not work that way?

I dont mind the extra work of tapping the oil pan & running lines like with a turbo, done it twice already. But if I could avoid it it would be great because its one less thing to worry about. No oil pressure gauge needed, no catastrophes to worry about.

Even with the Kraftwerks kit you have to use an oil filter relocator, so that that negates the benefits of having a self lube blower. At least in my opinion it does.

thanks

The rotrex unit was made to that as the internals do their thing it pumps the oil through also. I dont think the novi unit can do this so your SOL.

You could add a electric pump (now another thing to go wrong) but even then you wouldnt know how much flow is needed to keep everything working since there is a pocket of space in there that (i assume) should be filled up to a certain level at all times.

imo buy the TTX rotrex kit or non SL novi

One of their reps replied and told me its not a problem to mix & match certain things. Vortech is closed until Jan 3 though.

With the T Trim, what size pulley should I use to get 10psi on an F22 revving to 8/8.5k? Also what size pulley for the SQ?

thanks

The T trim is more efficient at the higher rpms where the boost is more than 10 psi.

The same size pulley would be close with both chargers.

The T trim requires a larger 3-3/4 inch intake.

Start with a 4.5 inch and go from there. You may need to get a second pulley to get it close. Nobody can tell you what boost you will get with what pulley with any certainty. Every set up is different. Intake, head, exhaust and cams all impact boost.
