Default Oil cooler before or after heat-exchanger

I've been thinking. Has anyone done any trial runs putting the heat-exchanger either behind or in front of their oil cooler and measuring results?

I dont know whether the heat-exchanger is less efficient requiring it to be in direct air flow, or if it's better for the oil cooler to be up front.

My current setup is stacked like this: Heat exchanger / oil cooler / ac condenser / radiator

My oil gets hot (~280F). I haven't really monitored my IATs, so I can't speak to that. If I can swap locations putting the oil cooler in front and keep my IATs down and drop my oil temps, I'll be a very happy camper.

Anyone experiment with this before?

Did you monitor oil temps before installing the oil cooler?

I already have. My current one fills almost half the bumper opening. I did recently order a larger one with 1.5x the surface area.

Question still stands on which is the best way to stack them up. Alternate option is V-mounting, if I have the space.

I may have years ago, don't have that info anymore. My setup changed quite a bit since my initial oil cooler install.

Im having a hard time understanding why keeping the oil cool is an issue for you. The core your running is quite large already.

Are you tracking your car to see temps that high? Any cooler is better than no cooler

With stock radiator and stock "oil cooler' my oil temps on track were nearly 300 in the summer.

I'm installing my supercharger now. I've chosen to go...

oil cooler - front mount - ac condenser - radiator

My biggest concern is oil temps. I figure my IATs should be good with the front mount and relatively low boost. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Yes, these temps are on the track only (road course). I did get a vented hood, which helped cool things by ~10F.
