Default OEM bearings???

So long story short I built my F20C a few months back. I used King Racing main and rod bearings. After 2000 miles and 6 oil changes it spun a rod bearing. I have convinced myself that I need to use OEM bearings and OEM bearing clearances. My problem is I can't find the thickness of the OEM bearings. There are a bunch of charts out there but I believe those are for B series engines which have different part numbers for the same color bearings. From everything I've seen the thickest bearing (blue) measures .0793 however with my crank and crank bore in specs I need a bearing around .0980. My machine shop recommends a cleverer bearing that measures .0980 but I would prefer a better quality bearing. It looks like ACL race bearings measure .0986 which verifies that the chart I'm referencing is not for F engines. If anyone has any advice please help.

Thanks. I agree with using Honda bearings. Hence my questions. The problem with the codes is that mine are all wrong now. Crank has been turned and rods are aftermarket. If I could get ahold of a chart that shows what measurements correlates to what sizes I could figure it all out. Or if I could find a chart that coordinates bearing color to thickness.

Makes sense now. I don't think anyone that's Honda savvy would recommend turning a Honda crank. Find a good used crank that specs out.

unless u just turned it because of the spun rod. Still wouldn't use it.

I agree with Stewie on this one bro. Had a mishap happen because of a negligent machine shop with my Gsr engine (B18c1) it spun on the dyno and the crank was not even damaged.

Sent it to Mike Laskey (the same site you were on LOL) and he set the engine up with a fresh crank + ACL race bearings (mind you this engine see's 9k daily).

It was worth sending it to Mike to assemble, blueprint, and balance my bottom end (for the peace of mind and knowing that a seasoned professional was taking care of it).

Best of luck!
