Default no vacuum from turbo

I just got the turbo in the other day. There is no connection for the hose from the wastegate/boost controller. Only the oil feed and oil return flange is on the turbo. Where do I connect the wastegate/boost controller to? Con I just tap into the intercooler pipeing coming strait out of the turbo? Thanks

No. You need to tap the cold side housing preferably on the top.

Any particular reason you use the compressor housing instead of a vacuum source after the throttle body? Just wondering.. Sorry to hijack your thread OP.

^ I don't think I understand what you are asking??? measuring the pressure in the housing is essential to operations

You can tap off the turbo, or you can tap off anywhere on the intake manifold, it doesnt really matter.

I was just curious. I always used a post throttle body vacuum source. I never liked the idea of having a silicone/rubber line near the heat of the turbo. Thanks.

if this vacuum line is for the boost controller, I would run your lines as short as possible... So if the output of the compressor doesnt have a nipple to attach a line to, install one on one of the silicone couplers as close to the turbo as possible. Then run that line to the boost controller and wastegate etc...

For the actual 'boost' that is seen by the controller, i would have that connected to the intake plenum, so the boost seen by the engine has been through the intercooler (and lost whatever boost). This will make for better readings and cut down on boost spikes!
