Why did my thread turn into turbo VS sc? All I need to know is who and for how long runs here 10psi on 11:1CR on a TURBO.

I would love to see this stay on topic and see real answers. As long as you have supporting mods what would be the "magic" number on stock compression?

I for one am only running 6.5psi turboed.

There is no "magic" number. It comes down to the sleeves. And there is no way of knowing exactly how much boost they will hold and for how long.

LOL the car is fast enough for now at the current boost level. I may one day get the itch to turn it up but will be tuned first on the Dyno to 10psi then backed to 8 for the street.

There has to be..... B-series motors will only handle about 10-12psi psi on the stock compression and ~18 psi with rods and pistons before the cylinder walls go. Ask me how I know this.

Aren't our sleeves supposed to be much stronger as they are FRM?
there is a limit to cylinder pressure not boost pressure. be conservitive on timing and your sleeves will last ive done 20 psi on 9.8 cr b series on a sc61 and got 483 fwhp and done 18 psi on a stock gsr with a 57 trim and got 397 fwhp and both those motors are daily driven and have 5k + miles on them now and the customer beat the crap out of them, those are just a few that ive done recently and ther are plenty of stock block b series at 500+ hp
without timing control you can kill sleeve with low boost pressures due to high cylinder pressures, With high boost on stock sleeves you need to stay away from mbep.

turbo cars are a little harder on motors due to they come up on boost when coming up on peak torque and that is when you have rapidly rising cylider pressure where sc car comes on liner and slow and that is allot easier on the motor
