Default Motor swap questions - clutch

Im gonna be doing a motor swap in next week or 2, also removing my turbo kit. Want to do some preparation for supercharging the car down the road. Tapping girdle etc.

My Competition 1620 has served me well during my turbo days, PIA to drive but it works. But I know its way overkill for an S/C.

What are you SOS, Comptech, Vortech guys running?
**IF** I get an S/C kit, I will not run more than 10/12psi. That would put me around 240tq maximum I think.

thanks

Most people run either a SOS kit or an ACT pressure plate with stock disc.
The ACT is good up to 380 ft lbs i believe and has a close to stock pedal feel.

General opinion is to avoid puck type clutches for street drivable. That said, I'll be getting an ACT.

Yeah the main reason I didnt go with ACT the first time around was the whole crank walk thing.. I know its a debatable subject. But after going through 2 motors I am even more cautious now.

Has ACT changed their PP design yet? I loved the ACT SS kit on my MR2, wouldn't mind getting another one as long as the issues are worked out

yes they changed the design, so if you get a new one, you will have the revised one

I like the SOS or Clutchmasters fx300. I'll be getting one of those next year.

found a nice 05 F22 w/ 20k miles for a good price from a reputable seller on here...

only thing that I have a concern about id the compression #'s I was told.
On my original F20 motor & the 06 F22 which I just wrecked, the best compression #'s were 250psi during a warm test.

He told me this F22 has 230psi in each, but test was done on a cold engine that was not in a car. Would it be safe to assume that once the motor is in my car, a warm test would give 10psi higher making it +240psi in each?

thanks
