Default Monitoring / filtering oil in forced induction

Had anyone approached the thought of either putting a smaller filter inline from the head to the turbo / supercharger? Also, has anyone though about monitoring oil flow / pressure to the turbo. The opening in the reducer is so small that I just blew a turbo because a small piece of teflon tape managed to clog the reducer in the oil feed line to the turbo. If I had known that the flow to the bearings had been so greatly reduced I would have been able to catch it before having to rebuild a turbo.
