You'd have to get the k-pro instead of the AEM and then take up religion . If the guy doing the inspection is brighter than most you may fail, but considering most of those guys IQ's have dropped from inhaling exhaust fumes you have a decent chance of passing. You have a better chance at a private place than a state run one.

its more about the amount of CO2 that you are or will be pushing out of the motor. with out a cat you will most deffinately fail. the cat is there to help burn up some of the left over fuel and biproduct from teh combustion of your engine. if you keep the cat and put the sock exhaust on with a really tight tune you can pass on a lot of different kits.

On cars 1996 and newer they just do an ODBII test to see if it passes(o2 sensors working and all that). On cars OLDER than 1996 they still do a sniffer test.
As long as the ecu reports that all emissions equipment is working and it LOOKS like you have a functional CAT, you can pass. The only thing to watch out for is in some states they keep a record of your previous tests and if things don't match up you'll fail. I haven't heard of any problems in NY or NJ though. The K-pro shows up as a RSX ecu, that why you might fail if someone is paying attention. Private places probably wouldn't notice or care. You can always say it was damaged from a leak in the firewall or gromet and had to be replaced.

Fellow s2ki members, I made a deposit for a manifold downpipe package over a month ago. Some things came up so I could no longer buy the two parts and asked Mase for a refund two weeks later. Spoke on the phone and he said he would take care of it right away. Almost three weeks later, tons of phone calls, and a few pm's and e-mails and nothing. I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. I call his shop and is now a fax machine number from what is seems like. I just want my money back!!!!
