Maintenance required light and aem ems
Hey guys I got a quick question is the maintenance required light triggered by a separate sensor based on the odometer or is it based on the stock ecu. Reason I ask is that my maintenance required light flashed for a few seconds and I am pretty sure the tuner did not program the light to flash for anything on my aem ems. My guess is that it is based solely on the odometer because I am close to 59k so maintenance will be going off for the 60k.

pretty sure when it just flashes a couple of times that's the reminder that you'll need to change the oil soon. once you hit 7,500 miles it'll just stay on and that's when they want you to change the oil. that should all be in the dash with the dash just counting the milage, not done through the ECU.

To remove maintenance light blinking (even with aftermarket EMS):
1. put key in
2. hold down the trip button (10-20 secs)
3. turn key to ON position
4. continue to hold the trip button until maintenance light disappears
I've used this procedure with my AEM EMS.
