5.3 liter. I guess this would be a 327ci engine? I don't know what this motor came in from the factory other then the Avalanche. Anyone know what the power specs are on this motor?

I'm not up on my modern V8's, but thought an LS1 was a 350ci 5.7?

Junky is correct, the 5.3L is GMs truck engine. It's popular for swaps because it's considerable cheaper than the high performance variant. It also had a iron bottom vs aluminum.

This may also be a LS4. Borrowed from crateenginedepot.com:

Perhaps the most unique application of the LS engine in a car, the LS4 is a 5.3L version used in the front-wheel-drive Chevrolet Impala SS and Pontiac Grand Prix GXP. The LS4 has an aluminum block and unique low-profile front-end accessory system, including a “flattened” water pump to accommodate the transverse mounting position within the Impala and Grand Prix. It is rated at 303 horsepower and 323 lb-ft of torque.
