k24 cranks and the differences
ok so i ordered a used tsx crank and got it in took it to the shop, and found out a thrust bearing is no good. I got my refund and decided to buy a accord crank as brand new they are only 225 bucks. I put the two next to each other, and after a little testing at my machine shop. there is no difference between the two other then the nitrate coating. which my shop can do to the new one. so long story short, is buy an accord crank and just get it nitrate coated.
used tsx crank $325
brand new accord crank with coating $350
here are some pics also

They are manufactured using a different forging process also. The TSX crank will handle more abuse as a result. Put both on an axial strain with data logging capabilities and watch the TSX crank take nearly twice as much torque before failure. Trust me on this. All the high powered (700 WHP and up) k-series civics run the crank for this reason alone. If you are only going to produce 500 WHP then there is no real reason to purchase the TSX crank.

the crank can handle more tq due to partly the coating, from what my machine shop tells, me. and it was slightly better balanced, but i am getting the whole rotating assembly balance. I am only shooting for 500-600 hp, 9k red line, so i think the saving on the crank is worth it. imo.

yep. 700 that is why even used ones go for about 3-400 this way i got a new crank in the perfect condition as a used one would go for. and the used one would also need to polished. or at least should be.
