Just bought a basic Comtech Aftercooler Supercharger Kit, what is the largest pulley possible with FMU?
Hey guess, well I own a 2001 S2000 and I just purchased a comptech Novi 1000 aftercooled supercharger kit of a fella here on the forums. I have tons of experience supercharging and turbocharging Miatas, and to be honest this is the first forced induced car I have built that will utilize a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. With that said, the baseline comptech kit aftercooled on my AP1 is good for 5.5-6psi. I guess my question is simple, given a 255 Walbro LPH fuel pump and stock injectors, 360cc or 390cc whichever it is for AP1's, what is the highest boost pulley that can be ran with an intercooled comptech system with 93 octane fuel. 8psi? 9psi? I know that larger injectors are always a possibility, given they don't suck the fuel or cause the car to lose idle... (Miatas' can run up to 20% larger injector on OEM CPU.)
I'm not looking to band-aid my car up, and significantly decrease reliability for a gain of maybe 10 horsepower, LOL.

6psi, maybe 7psi if you're adventurous. Some have done more, though.
But, the higher you go above stock, the more you are band-aiding and increasing the likelihood of problems. My SOS kit is a nominal 6psi, though SOS' chart says it is ~6.5psi at 9000. They also come with a very basic pre-set piggyback fuel controller, though, which the Comptech does not have. Your subject I am assuming is asking about the Comptech FMU...but it's not a FMU as all it does is clamp the MAP sensor voltage.

Fuel management unit, I was just referring to the rising rate fuel pressure regulator, thank you for the correct though. Yeah that's what I figured. So a comptech header and exhaust will be a likely upgrade as well, and its overall power is similar to that of a c5 vette (and it is, but not in terms of application), then I'm sure to be satisfied

You can use a 7PSI pulley. I believe this is 4.2in. It is the stock pulley for the comptech AP2 kit. These pulleys are hard to find as they are in high demand. You may have to buy one new from a mustang site or something. I believe 4.25in pulleys are commonly sold for the novi1000 so that is a close size.
Most people buy a piggyback when doing this like a vafc. This will help with the AFRs as the FMU comptech supplied isn't very good. this is similar to what is supplied in the SOS kit but a little better. It isn't needed though as many people have gotten away without it. It would just help the car run better.
If you want to use bigger injectors you will need a good piggyback like the emanage or a full standalone. cheaper piggybacks like the vafc/neo and AEM FMIC can't compensate for new injectors.

Use either aem ems or flashpro if you want the best drivability and performance.
00-05 aem is the easiest
06-09 flashpro is best. I wish we could have flashpro for our earlier cars..
