I love my Greddy Kit. I can see how someone would desire more power though. I have the complaint how it "feels" like once you hit Vtec the power is gone but its just the butt dyno. However driving around and the quick spool it is very forgiving off the line. I dont DD this car as my daily is a SOHC Civic so when I get in my S it feels beastly. However next year I might go bigger after driving the wifes GTO it makes me want more power and that nuts go back into your stomach feeling when you mash on it.

Thanks for sharing...surely have to give your post credence
considering you own the GReddy and are rolling miles on it.

To me...I love the S stock....very much...but just looking
to increase my low end..and i think the GReddy will do that
from what I've seen of the dyno.

Heck..with the GReddy I'm at stock "max" HP at 5K rpms..
no need to VTEC.
And of dyno I can see where you feel it runs out of steam..
it flattens/quits pulling from 5500 to 6200..but then pulls strong
to 290WHP!
To me...the VTEC is just icing....in that at 5K I've matched stock
HP and also greatly surpassed stock torque.

In regards to the 135I...am I missing something?
BMW lists the flywheel HP of that car at 300..torque as well..
while the GReddy S with 8.5 boost is 345 HP and 260lb.ft. while
being 600lbs. lighter!
Shouldn't the S easily dispatch this car?

Just a question?
Can I run the GReddy with stock exhaust?
And if so...how much will the exhaust note be changed?

And for nyczs2k....isn't it one thing to acheive 600WHP....but
something altogether getting that power to the ground?

At what point does the "throttle modulation" actually conspire
to defeat all those extra horses?
It is possible to get the power to the ground with a few changes so I'm not too worried about that.

You can use your stock exhaust, but it will be restrictive. If your going to use the stock exhaust you should at least get a HFC or test pipe. The exhaust note doesn't change drastically, you will probably here the turbo spooling most of the time

An unmodified Greddy Kit on an S2K is highly unlikely to make 345 whp at 8.5 psi. Most people make around 300-330whp with the Greddy Kit.

Anyway, the kit is awesome and I would recommend the kit to anyone who wants a reliable turbo kit that makes decent power. You should look at the link below for a ton of info on the kit.

thanks for info and link nyczs2k....with the 345HP I meant
at the flywheel which would put WHP at 295 which is what the
DSport dyno showed.

Like I stated before..I love the power of my S stock...just imagine
my thrill at having the extra from the turbo....I don't really race
so the GReddy will be more than enough for me!

Keep us informed on your goal of 600HP...and of course a
full review when your there.

You're right, it definitely fixes the lack of low end. The car is much more fun to drive with the Greddy, IMO. That's exactly why I bought it.

I haven't raced a 135i/335i yet. You're right, on paper a Greddy'd S should beat them. However, remember that those cars have a mountain of torque that spans most of their rpm range, so they're fast anywhere, anytime. My guess is that you'd have to be quick on the draw to get the jump on one of those. In most situations I'd expect to win, but not by a whole lot. I was just saying that it wouldn't be an easy kill.

I have taken two LS3 'Vettes on extended test drives (aka shakedowns) and I can tell you that a Greddy'd S2000 is nowhere close to that kind of fast. But to me, it's a whole lot more fun.

I should point out that I'm running the Greddy on an AP1 with an HFC and Fujitsubo exhaust. I doubt I'm even at 300whp, and nyczs2k is making far more power than I am. (I'm not going to dyno mine because I don't plan to keep the kit for more than another ~6 months.)

From what it sounds like. You will definitely love the Greddy Kit and will not be disappointed.

I will make a new thread when I start my build in a few months probably. I will include pics and videos of the whole process.

Yeah...I guess you're right about the 135I..they list torque at
300 and it is from 1800 to like 4000...so it does have more
grunt than a GReddyd S...and I have to wonder if BMW isn't
maybe understated their HP and torque claims?

OK...I'm sold...give me 3-4 months and I'll be ready..
just you or nyczs2k let me know when you're ready to sell.

haha that's funny. I'm constantly asking people if my car is fast because I don't think it is anymore. They however say this as they're telling me to slow down

There's nothing wrong with the Greddy kit, but a large percentage of us get a taste of boost and move on to other kits quickly. It's a very expensive way to figure out what we didn't know we wanted.
Stated all too perfectly.
