Also worth noting the entire timing chain set, guides, etc were all replaced with new OEM with this third motor build.

Send me the datalog (if you have one) and I’ll screen it. No, I won’t solve your problem but I’d like to take a look at what your knock sensor is registering. Noise is noise even if it’s not the right frequency so the “rod-knock won’t be picked up by knock sensor” is interesting… it picks up supercharger bottoming out or broken mounts or exhaust manifold hitting the chassis. So you get my point.

Edit: Argh, you said Hondata. I won’t see the knock-floor unlike with standalones and noise activity during your race session, so I probably can’t help. Sorry.

Let me piggyback on my other post. Do you have audio-knock detection? You paid for 3 motors at this point, what’s another $400, right?

Get LINK Knock-Block audio knock detection and listen to confirm. Your ears won’t lie.

I sold the Hondata along with the supercharger, I don’t have the logs anymore.

Here’s the video. In this video the motor is completely warmed up 180 deg oil, with 85psi oil pressure at idle.

All sounds normal to me except at 1:11 and the rev right after you can hear it. I couldn’t replicate it otherwise. I even took the car for a drive after this video and couldn’t replicate it.. but a couple weeks ago I couldn’t make it stop.

Either way, 1:11 is a hint of the sound. When this happened originally it was that sound exactly, just 5 times louder. The flashpro registered over 90 knocks just driving a few miles when this happened.

I pulled the plugs and they all look perfect, no oil on them, no peppering, nothing.
On my computer speakers, it sounds just fine.

Are you sure you have 85psi oil pressure at idle? That's VERY high.

Ah true, that was ice cold at idle. Fully warm pressure was around 40 psi.

It's been a long time since I've had rod knock in an engine (luckily), but shouldn't rod knock be more constant, and get louder with RPMs increasing?

Well if it is exactly like that, it does sound like rod knock unfortunately. Was trying to be optimistic based upon your original description. If that is what you are hearing, I would start with the VTEC screen and oil filter inspection, then proceed to pulling the pan and inspecting play in the rod bearings. I would of course first contact inline pro about this. But race builds, race stuff, no warranty, etc. so they may or may not help you there.
