How many people are running an inline oil filter on their turbo feed line?

Default How many people are running an inline oil filter on their turbo feed line?

I am in the final stages of my turbo build. I was wondering. How many of you guys run an inline oil filter on the feed line going to the turbo?

I have a -3an feed line but my spray bar oil filter is -4 an. So i dont know what to do.

These are a good Idea, I will be running one on my next build. On my last build after spinning a bearing the debris in the oil clogged my turbos oil inlet and the bearings melted . So on top of rebuilding the motor I had to buy a new turbo as well. Not exactly sure what inline oil filter to run though.

You can buy a female to male AN fitting (-4 AN female/-3AN male) to convert your inline filter. Personally, I've never used an inline oil filter (for the oil feed) on any of my builds.

That's where I had by turbo oil line run off of. Most oil filters have bypass valves that let unfiltered oil pass through if the back pressure gets too high. I think this is what happened on mine when the little bits of bottom end clogged up the oil filter.

if you use a filter on the turbo feed, make sure the correct pressure is getting to the turbo...i know some are running a restrictor and a restrictor paired with a filter will eat some pressure for sure.

thanks Herecomesboost, I am going with what you recommended. That will make it simple and I can keep the turbo protected. I am not running a restrictor so I should be good.

Hopefully I can fire it up this weekend and get it tuned soon.
