does the belt needs to be retighten after 400 miles of driving? i didn't know about that. maybe that's what causing my boost dropping after 7000 rpm.

Can't say for Comptech, but the Vortech manual states that the belt should be checked and re-tightened after the initial 250 to 400 miles. All new belts will stretch after an initial period of use.

Vortech kit with a/c

going on 5 months
around 4k miles on it
not a single problem to date, <knock on wood>
