Default How to inspect a used turbo kit?

Searched but nothing came up. Going to check out a used turbo kit and wanted to know what I need to look for. How to check the turbo, bov, wastegate, injectors, lines, etc.

Thanks!

biggest issue with used turbo kits are the turbo's themselves. check the shaft play on it, if its not bad i would run it if not, then get another turbo.

my 2 cents

look for soot buildup on the welds, if its cracked there will be alot of carbon buildup at the crack.

usually the only thing that fails on a turbo kit.

buy my kit with 1k miles and you won't have to worry

but yeah, like everyone said, check the turbo for shaft play.. you won't really be able to tell if seals are bad unless the turbo is in operation.. check manifold and dp etc for cracking/fatigue.
