All that said, I try to remind my employees that the person on the other end my be in contact with us for the very first time.
Exactly. The first impression was not good. Like I said, it doesn't matter now and I am just waiting patiently for all my stuff to arrive so we can get started. I can't wait.

Well, he already mentioned he wants to 1/4 mile the car and that's never easy on a diff or clutch. Its much cheaper to get a comptech reinforced diff BEFORE it blows, rather than after.

$400-$600 for an upgraded clutch $900 with new flywheel, and $600-1000 for install.

And there's always SOMETHING that needs to be custom made on turbo kits from what I've read so they fit correctly.

Right now though, it definately looks like InlinePro is the way to go on turbos. If possible, you may want to have THEM install it, at least you'll know it was done right.

If I didn't have these pesky emissions laws in NJ I'd have definately went turbo over SC'r.
Actually he mentioned he wanted to trap 117MPH. This can be accomplished without launching car. Launching car will only affect ET.

Who the heck is getting 600-1K for a clutch/flywheel install?!!

I called InlinePRO about installing the kit with the 3mm gasket and whoever I spoke to arrogantly says "well it's 2,000.00 if we install it and it will take a week".

He said it in a way that came off like it was supposed to scare me off and was not at all interested in the business. It was not professional and it kind of bummed me out considering the load of cash I just laid down for one of their kits.

Anyway, I plan to have a good local shop do the install, get a good base map installed and then take it up to Chicago to AMS for the AEM EMS fine tuning.
I own a shop that specializes in S2Ks and we have an asking price for labor. We have qualified techs that do not work for free and on top of that rent, insurance, utilities, etc. We also stand behind our work which has a price. I'm sure the meaning of the "$2000..." was not intended to be sarcastic and it will take a week is just scheduling you in around other customers all ready in the shop. IMO that is a reasonable price for the install. There are many hours to completion, plus we warrenty our labor. Not all shop will do that for performance mods that you buy and bring to them. I can relate to this post because I am in these situations constantly going between customers, pricing and how many hours I day I work my techs. If we can't make a profit on jobs and we give stuff away, us specialized shop will not be around for you guys when you need us. If something goes wrong, we stand behind our services.

BTW I charge $650 to install a clutch on an S2K. Have you ever priced it at Honda? We back it up with the same warrenty as the dealer.

Props to Inline Pro

Props to Inline Pro
If you read my post again carefully, I never questioned the price they quoted for the install nor the length of time. It was the way it was handled and last I checked you weren't on the phone call. And I certainly don't need a lecture on how to run a business. I have been running my own businesses for over 15 years.

And as a business owner, I would be terribly disappointed if one of my staff treated a prospective customer the way I was treated when I called InlinePRO.

Your experiences with them may be different, this one is mine.

Thanks, I have moved on and so should you.
