The reinforced diff isn't going to all of a sudden make him be able to drag race his car. All it does is distribute the loads to both bolts more evenly. If you actually wanted to do an upgrade, try fitting an 04 diff.

Clutch installs aren't more than $400.

This has been beaten to death, but the 04 diff's have been taken a part and compared to the 00-03 and comptech. There is no discernable difference in the bolts or bracket on the 04 vs the 00-03. The thing that tends to save the 04's is the clutch delay valve, not the diff.

The comptech on the other hand uses MUCH larger and stronger bolts and brackets.

This should help clarify.

Well, he already mentioned he wants to 1/4 mile the car and that's never easy on a diff or clutch. Its much cheaper to get a comptech reinforced diff BEFORE it blows, rather than after.

$400-$600 for an upgraded clutch $900 with new flywheel, and $600-1000 for install.

And there's always SOMETHING that needs to be custom made on turbo kits from what I've read so they fit correctly.

Right now though, it definately looks like InlinePro is the way to go on turbos. If possible, you may want to have THEM install it, at least you'll know it was done right.

If I didn't have these pesky emissions laws in NJ I'd have definately went turbo over SC'r.
Who the heck is getting 600-1K for a clutch/flywheel install?!!

I called InlinePRO about installing the kit with the 3mm gasket and whoever I spoke to arrogantly says "well it's 2,000.00 if we install it and it will take a week".

He said it in a way that came off like it was supposed to scare me off and was not at all interested in the business. It was not professional and it kind of bummed me out considering the load of cash I just laid down for one of their kits.

Anyway, I plan to have a good local shop do the install, get a good base map installed and then take it up to Chicago to AMS for the AEM EMS fine tuning.

Is the casting for the housing the same/same composition?

The comptech reinforced diff transfers the load better to both of the bolts when one is under stress which would help out a good deal but the loads from a launch would probably still stretch the bolt out pretty far and ruin the R&P mesh. Honestly the best way to do keep the OEM diff but possibly solve the issue would be to weld the caps onto the housing permenently but that'll take some guts

Are you going to have Eric from AMS tune it?

Sorry if anyone at the shop came off "rude" on the phone. We are not like that at all, and you can ask any of the mid-a members how our customer service is.

Please pm me if you have any questions.

Cool, I used to run around with him a little until he moved. He's a pretty good guy.

I just purchased an S2000 Turbo kit on Monday from John. He has been GREAT his service has been outstanding. He has helped me out with any question I have asked him. I have spoke with two or three other guys that work at InlinePro and they all have been GREAT.
