In my opinion...

Precision turbos are absolute garbage, I wouldn't wish one on my worst enemy and sure as shit would never run one on any of my cars. You're making the right choice on leaving that platform, that's for sure.

Like others have said, take a look at Garrett and Borg's options. The GTX3576R suggested above is a hell of a turbo, but is a bit on the pricey side of things. Borg has a few options that come in at a lower price point, but it all depends on what your end goals are with the car. The S300SX FMW comes to mind, and is a pretty slick turbo as well.

You should have absolutely no issue making 450whp on pump with that lowered compression. My car made 475/305 @ 12-13psi on pump with stock compression.

Even my s256 made 440whp at 11-12psi on a stock motor. Excited to see what the s360 will get me

that is interesting to know, i never knew precision turbos were this bad

looks like im leaning towards garrett gtx quite a bit, the borg turbo looks a bit small to me not as pleasing (im sure it makes power don't get me wrong)

I have a GTX3076 and love it. It's an awesome turbo for the streets.

The borg turbos are actually much larger than garrett, precision. My s360 looks bigger than a gt35

For any street car seeing alot of mileage and driving you cant beat the GTX series from Garrett. For your goals you are way oversizing your turbo. A GTX3076R with proper .82-1.00 T4 AR housing will be plenty to get you to 600whp. I made 500 at 18psi on a 20,000 mile hard driven GT3076 .63 and it even had a chipped wheel. This is my thought process on turbos...

Garrett GT/GTX Dual Ball Bearing Oil/Water Cooled Turbo- Number 1 choice for any street and street/race application where power is up to 600/650hp. Pretty much 30/35r

Precision Journal Bearing- Complete garbage and never will use on of them for any application

Precision Gen 2 wheel/Dual Ball bearing oil/air cooled- Great for large power 700+ application where you still have to be mindful about your spacing.

Borg Warner- Great reliable brute turbos. Huge and oversized but if you dont mind chopping crossmembers to fit it then run a borg.

I ran a borg S262 and maxed it out at 657 on E85 at 22psi.

I've replaced the original bearings with a rebuild kit for a garrett. I would imagine most pieces would work.

I've cleaned mine out a few times, and it usually will stop the smoking for a few months. Oil will eventually work its way past the turbine ring seal on my 6262, and the turbine ring seal for the rebuild kit was a different thickness and design.

My 6262 has a ring similar to the ring on the left.

I can't wait to get rid of it. I have a s360 as well...just waiting to take its place.
