a stock head with upgraded VALVE SPRINGS & TITANIUM RETAINERS on stock valves and camshafts can rev up to 10000rpm with no problem ?
and is it right that u have to change the ti retainers every 15000 miles?

Stock valves are stout.

Valve springs and retainers.....pick your poison. Like I said, I've used Ferrea and Supertech in multiple motors over the 600whp mark.

+1mm valves is about all I would ever do to an F2x head flow wise, but there's just so damn much flow through a stock head on these motors, I wouldn't even waste my time with it if I was looking for anything less than 700whp

1. 10,000 RPM is not need

2. A stock head will flow 600whp. The choice to upgrade is yours and should not be looked at as " more power". What you want to ask yourself is what type of conditions will this engine be seeing.. If you want to replace your valves do you want to use a stock size? What type of money do you want to spend. I have run supertech valves and now am using ferrea 1+mm on both intake and exhaust. This requires valve seats and choosing what type of seat to use will also depend on money. Given 1mm valves require a custom piston you are now moving into a more extensive build. Most ported heads I have seen have not done well. Most of the time this is from hogging material out and overall not understanding the s2000 head or having experience with it. It is not just removing material and cutting a valve and waalaaa more flow. It is just as easy to disrupt flow and have a pretty looking head that does nothing. If you do not want to spend the money for welding and overall reshaping the combustion chambers throw a set of nice standard size valves and a set of springs and retainers. If you want to go the more extreme route then be prepared to spend lots of time on machine work, welding shaping, flow testing , replacement of seats, guides, ect.

thats what we had to do with my head. we had to reshape it after adding more material in the head. We conctrated more on velocity than just the overall flow. also i concur with you on reving it to 10,000 rpm stock cams cannot make power at that rpm.

the cams can hold the power longer. the reason to go to 10k is not to make more power. its to extend your power ban
