Default Has anyone installed a Greddy Turbo kit and..

My question relates to the plug and play ability of the Greddy turbo kit.

I read the whole Greddy turbo thread and the main consensus is that in order for it to run properly, you will need a good tune.

Is there anyone that did not get a tune and just ran the kit from the box?

I am thinking about getting this kit for my 2007 ap2, but in terms of plug and play, the Kraftwerks kit seems to have less issues. Any thoughts people? Thanks!

after you spend the difference in money on a tune for the greddy kit you'll still be cheaper than if you bought a Kraftwerks kit.

buy the greddy kit and get flashpro.. then you can get a good tune instead of dealing with the greddy emanage garbage

Price wise I am not too concerned. I live in CA and I am more worried about the whole CARB issue.

greddy is car ready so it might be the best choice. Sell the emanage and get flash pro. Drivability should be great and you'll maintain obd2 compliance

Cool!

Whered you get your kit and where did you get it installed?

I boosted my old car (2001 IS300) and man o man was it a pain!!! I DO NOT want to go through all that again.

Any suggestions?

^^^^^^^^ i meant Carb ready

i bought mine used and my brother installed it. I had some issues come up on the dyno that are fixed now so i'm ready to go back for a retune. But the drivability was way better than i ever expected. I'm ordering a new manifold and exhaust for my retune so i can get every hp out of the t518z.

SInce you live in Nazi-fornia,

stick with the Greddy kit IF you have a decent tunner.(HARD to find, i cant find one in Cali)

Out of the box, the greddy kit runs really rich Low 11's and high 10's AFR's which is no-bueno. <-- kiss decent MPG's good bye. The base map also pulls a ton of timing, which is not necessary and creates too much heat.

If you can buy the flash pro, there are more experience tuners in the area and the car should run close to stock.

Install wise, if your local. I can do the work or help you. Its pretty straight forward.
Yea I wouldn't mind paying you to do the install, I've seen your posts and it seems like you know what you're talking about.

I live in Los Angeles (90010) and I do not want to live at my tuner's place again like I did with my Lexus. I would have to kiss up so much to get things done right. Thats the last time I do anything custom.

Check out my old car's links: http://my.is/forums/f96/my-first-real-trac...87/#post4397403

I was drawn to the Greddy because I thought it was virtually plug and play and maybe a tune down the line. But I am not too sure anymore. What do you guys think my down time would be if I got this kit?

2 Days for Install ?
1 Day for tune?

anything else?

Thanks for answering my Qs.
