Has anyone got a surge tank +/- ext fuel pump?
It's been a while since I post questions on s2ki. Sorry guys, I've been busy with my car and work I am currently sorting out a faulty boost controller and will get my car retune. Boost spiked up to 26psi way before 5krpm when it was on the dyno a few days ago. I just need to get the boost controller sorted and a retune. The drive train is almost sorted. It looks like the car will soon be ready for some serious launch. I am getting my paranoid about the safety margin back again
Last time I installed the fuel pump I didn't have a good look at the s2k stock fuel tank design. How safe is the fuel pick up point with fast sharp corners or very fast launch? Do you think a fuel surge tank is necessary?
Has anyone got a fuel surge tank in the S2k?
Could you post some pics and the dimension of the tank and fuel pums setup?
Anyone use the aem ems to drive external fuel pumps? How healthy is the voltage with the extra pump(s)?
Thanks

I'm only aware of 1 car AEBS has installed a surge tank on, From a phone call with Paulus about 5 months ago. A high volume low pressure pump was used from the main fuel tank to the surge tank, then a high pressure pump to the fuel rail.

I was thinking of that setup too chris.
Basically a surge tank with a overfill line to the tank and an inline pump driven by one of the AEM EMS's LS output.
Is this car running yet? Any problem?
Do you know what ext pump was used? Bosch?
How loud is the pump externally?

I'm running a Fuel cell with a external fuel pump(aeromotive A1000)...and EMS and STR fuel rail and Aeromotive FPR... The Pump is loud as all hell because we used one on our del sol race car... after I get everything installed I will let you know about it!!

I am not sure if it's a matter of need or necessary as I did not have a good look at the fuel pump pick up point in the s2k last time I poked my head down there.
I am just worried about 8krpm launch with slick and 1/2 full tank of petrol might be enough to cause fuel surge that could result in detonation/engine damage.
Has anyone got a picture of the fuel pick up point in the s2k fuel tank?

fperra, I saw that too but I am not sure how good it is against fuel surge. My guess that it's fairly good too otherwise people would have reported this problem with fast corners on track.
I guess I will keep an eye on the aem ems logs.
