Default Greddy turbo kit w/3mm headgasket

First of all a Big thanks to MITCH HARRISON!! at Greddy for sending me a cast iron manifold in replacement for my cracked tubular manifold. They have redeemed themselves with me, not as disappointed with Greddy anymore.

I recently picked up a 3mm headgasket and boost controller and I am contemplating on increasing the boost, flapper bore, and tune. I was wondering if anyone has tried it yet? If it would be even worth it? Is the 18G turbo enough so the car doesn't lag? Thoughts anyone?

there is discussion about this in another thread. turbo becomes too inefficient past 10psi.

lag? Our turbo spools pretty fast

dont remember, but I know this topic has been heavily discussed and b/c of the internal wastegate the turbo just doesn't respond well to high boost.

you can later upgrade to a T618Z which is a hybrid version of the TD06-20G; it will bolt up to our manifold

the downpipe and the charge piping will need to be modified

i would still run this turbo on stock compression at 7-9 psi

I can't even begin to describe how much better my car feels at 9.5 psi on stock compression over the 8.5 psi I was running before I changed to the Berks hiflow cat. It feels fantastic with virtually no lag at all. Notice how much better my torque curve is at the higher boost.

Before:

After:

My current boost curve:

I said it before, and I'll say it again, this kit is simply not worth the money/hassle if you want more than it provides. If you want those big numbers, SAVE money, and get inlinepro.

P.S. How come PTUNING numbers are always lower than everyone else's? I know they are good, so is it their dyno that reads abnormally low? I've seen dynos of the kit dropping down 300hp with the basemap, and over 300whp with just tuning (no upping the boost.)
