Default Greddy Profec Spec B

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts I'm currently running a simple manuel boost controller until I can get my greddy profec spec B sorted out. I personally think the solenoid is dead but from people saying its very hard to tune, maybe its just being a pita?

When the controller is turned off (but connected to the wastegate) it will not even boost to the wastegate spring, the boost just spikes up to who knows where (I won't let it get high enough to find out) but WELL past safe limits. I thought if the controller was turned off, it would just run off the spring?

Even with the controller turned on, with all settings 0, it still wants to boost spike way beyond safe parameters.

For those of you who have tuned this, does any of this sound familiar? If so what did you do to fix it? Also if someone could share their settings I'd like to see if I can get the controller to hold ANY amount of boost (since its not doing that now)

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hey whats up Jonathan and yes it was a PITA
I called up greddy and they gave me the parameters it should be set at according to my setup
Ask for Mitch at Greddy the number is
949-588-8300
He helped me alot at to where it should be set at.
And from there i was able to be a little closer from where it wasnt boost creeping.
I had to play with the gain and set gain alot.
UP and DOWN 287.
And when i finally had it running GREAT my friend totaled it
Hope this helps bro

Yes sir, it was hitting boost cutout that my tuner set for @ 17.1 psi
At first i went back to my tuner and told him about the problem and after talking with him he assured me it wasnt his tune
So i was about to go out and buy a 14.5 pound spring, so i would DEF not boost spike but before i did that i played with my boost controller
And vwala problem fixed.
You know what i did notice also was everytime i would disconnect the power from the car when i was working on something, and hooked the battery back up it would boost spike for a couple days. Almost like the aem ems had to learn the map again? I dunno maybe am crazy.

Ps. oh yea i thought it was my Boost controller also and was ready to ship it to greddy and wait 1 month for them to fix and or replace the unit and send it back.. because just sending me a new one so there can be zero downtime would make too much sense.
