There is one process in the beginning, part of the inital setup, that takes about 3-5 minutes (even says so in the manual), but I don't remember exactly what it was. It definitely didn't take 15 miuntes though.

Are they using it or or they just telling you it is working?
Many people run forced induction on the S without spark control because there isn't a great package solution, but they don't get out of it what they could and longevity is compromised.
If the manufacturer says it won't work I would say they probably know more about the unit than anyone.
