I've been running on the basemap and it still runs rich with the GT30. I don't think you really have anything to worry about.

Turn your heavy foot into a light foot till you get to the tuner.
Plain and simple.

I'm just running off my wastegate, which I think is set at around 7-8 psi if I'm not mistaken. Like Kevin said, don't bury your foot into it and you'll be fine. The base map is actually pretty decent until you floor it and your A/F pegs to 10.0.

I already have the turbo, but I've just never gotten around to getting it tuned. I'm getting a 3" DP and 3" HFC installed FINALLY this Saturday. I'll then probably get a PnP map sensor and get my EMS installed and get it tuned. I'd be happy with 325rwhp-350rwhp on 10-14 psi running safely on the car.
