If only their profits had spiked like their turbo kits boost.

Sadly these are the effects of the replica kits and parts. Keep buying knock-offs and soon there will be no original designs to knock off. Buy genuine JDM and save the aftermarket.
i doubt replication caused this...maybe if it was another company, but not greddy...from what i see only a small part of their product line is cosmetic/aerodynamic (the most often replicated parts)

60 million in debt isn't because of knockoffs.

HKS isn't doing as fine as you think.
well in 2005 hks had a revenue of 75 million usd, but they do have double the employees trust had, so who knows they are publicly traded though which could possibly make it harder for them to go under, but not that much better

*edit* greddy has a revenue of 743,000 usd, much smaller then hks

If Trust goes, then Greddy definitely does, unless they split up fast. If Greddy goes, then Trust will be ok, but the US wing of their distribution (% of revenue?) will close, but Trust itself will still float.

all you guys that say that knock offs did not lead to this need to rethink it. replicas and knock offs probably were not the sole reason that they filed for bankrupcy, howver i am sure that it definately contributed to their downfall.
you guys make it sound like the knock offs had no impact at all

Oh and it doesn't have to direct replication to affect the company. Cheap china made parts, in general, are killing the demand for authentic, better made parts.

As far as directly replicated parts, there are all sorts--from the big dollar items like Emanages, intercoolers, turbos, blow off valves, to the small items like oil catch tanks, oil caps, radiator caps. Replica parts definitely had an impact, all the legitimate players in the industry felt it when china companies started popping up everywhere. But don't get me wrong, the economy is probably the biggest factor. The market for modifying cars in Japan just isn't so big anymore either.
