S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

A good oil weight for turbo applications.

Right, and their "European Car Formula" is completely different to the normal stuff we use in the states. This again is b/c we have Government mandates on catalytic converter life and ZDDP will destroy them over time. Here is a link to the 0W-40 I was using on with my journal bearing Greddy turbo.

Now Castrol also offers a European Formula 0W-30 that is better for a bit colder climate or cooler turbo.

So the Euro blend is not the same. Interesting....I always just ran the off the shelf mobil 1 from autozone or whatever. Im really excited about this Bran Penn...kinda curious about it. Maybe after 2000 miles or so I should get an analysis on it. Would be interesting no?

The Deisel oils still have ZDDP since they don't have to worry about cats

i have used blackstone oil analysis in the past.
http://www.blackstone-labs.com/gas_engines.html

Make sure you send a sample of the new oil (TBN), so they can give you a analysis of how the oil have broken down over time. That will give you an idea of how long you can run the oil before changing it out. It might put to rest some people's ideas of how quickly an oil degradates from the addition of a turbo.

Ok, good info thank you. I will do this for sure, will be interesting to see the results. Also will be nice to see if my engine has any abnormal wear caracteristics.

Brad Penn link provided had a description of the benefits of ZDDP. Sounds like the Moble 5/40 turbo diesel I am running may be a good choice above the standard Moble syn. I have noticed it seems to hold its clarity longer which may be due to the better breakdown resistance.

Quick Reply: A good oil weight for turbo applications.
